Carol Aspling holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Biola University, receiving
the Outstanding Music Education Student Award. She is currently the Director
of Music Education, grades K-12 at the Crystal Cathedral Academy and Church
where she directs the C.C.A. Chorus, and supervises all of the music activities.
She is also the vocal coach for the children in "The Glory of Christmas". Her
Cathedral choirs have performed on the Hour of Power, as well as internationally,
including a performance of Faure's Requiem with the Vancouver Symphony, and
Britten's War Requiem with the UCLA Chorale . Recently, the C.C.A. Chorus
performed in Carnegie Hall.
Carol has been with the SCCC since 1996. The Advanced Chorus has
performed major works including Handel's Judas Maccabeus, John Rutter's
Mass of the Children, and performs with the Long Beach Symphony for the
Annual Holiday Concert. She is a voice teacher, and has studied conducting
techniques with Henry Leck and Dr. Doreen Rao. Mrs. Aspling is certified in the
Kodaly Method of Music Education. She is a frequent clinician and presents
workshops throughout California. Miss Carol resides in Orange with her husband
David, and they are the proud parents of Jacob who loves to sing in the SCCC’s
Apprentice Chorus.
